What We Believe

OUR MISSION

Hope Universal exists to serve God and mankind by ministering to both spiritual and physical needs throughout the world in the name of Jesus Christ.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1. God manifests Himself to us as the Father of all creation, as the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirits who leads, guides, and comforts us.

2.  Man was created in the image of God, perfect and sinless, until he yielded to the temptation and sinned against God. Through this disobedience, Adam, the first man, became separated from God and thus brought judgement on himself and all of mankind.

3.  Because of our sin we are destined an eternity without hope and without God. To save us from eternal damnation, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to live as an example to us and to die as a sacrifice to restore us back to our right relationship with God.

4.  All who have put their faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice will have fellowship with God and eternal life in Heaven, as stated in Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

5.  We have been saved to live a life pleasing to God and to serve fellow mankind as stated in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Our works are done to share and reflect His abundant love to us.

6.  The Bible is the revealed Word of God, inspired and inerrant in its original form, and our only and final authority for faith and practice.

7. God has called us to proclaim the Gospel message found in the Bible and to disciple believers to follow Christ’s example as commanded in Matthew 28:19-20a: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded…”. We proclaim His message in word and deed. In Christ’s strength, we will offer His hope to a hurting world.

8. We recognize that the church is the body of Christ, through which the great commission is fulfilled. Every believer should be accountable to a local body of believers, and those commissioned and sent out are under the authority of the local church. Hope Universal assists the church to fulfill its mandate and is not a replacement of the local church.

9. Hope Universal has a mandate to help the needs of mankind and therefore we believe it would be contradictory to become involved politically in affairs which may lead to civil strife and war.
